Stop Managing Anxiety—It’s Time to Rewire It for Good

For years, I thought anxiety was something I just had to manage. Deep breaths, journaling, mindset work—I tried it all. And while those things helped for a moment, the anxiety always came back. I’d still wake up exhausted before the day even started. My mind still ran in endless loops of overthinking, self-doubt, and what-ifs.

What I didn’t realize? Anxiety isn’t just in your head. It’s in your nervous system.

If you feel like anxiety keeps running the show—like no matter how much you try to “calm down,” your body won’t cooperate—it’s not because you’re doing something wrong. Your nervous system is stuck in overdrive. And until you shift it at the source, you’ll keep feeling drained, overwhelmed, and on edge.

But here’s the good news: You don’t have to stay in survival mode. You can rewire your nervous system so calm becomes your natural state. You can wake up feeling clear, grounded, and in control. You can run your business and life with confidence, focus, and energy—without the c...

Grief Leave: Finding Healing Through Compassion, Movement, and Self-Care

Grief is a journey I never imagined I’d face so deeply, but when we had to put our sweet 16 year old Bailey doggo down I realized I had to choose how to move through it.

For me, that choice was "grief leave." I gave myself permission to pause—to feel, reflect, and heal instead of pushing forward like nothing had changed. In this blog, I want to share what I’ve learned about navigating loss with compassion, movement, and self-care, and how these tools have transformed my healing process.

Grief isn’t just an emotional experience—it’s physical, mental, and spiritual. In Hawaiian culture, there’s a concept called kaumaha, which translates to “heaviness.” It beautifully describes how grief feels in the body: a weight that slows us down. Instead of resisting it, I’ve learned to honor that heaviness. Grief has taught me that it’s not something to “fix” but something to hold gently and move through with grace.

Grief comes in different forms. For me, it wasn’t just th...

Anticipatory Grief: Finding Meaning Before Loss

I never thought I’d be writing about this—at least, not right now. But life has a way of bringing us lessons we didn’t ask for. Last week, we said goodbye to our beloved Bailey, our sweet 16-year-old pup who brought so much joy and unconditional love to our lives. And in the days leading up to his passing, I found myself sitting in a space I didn’t quite have words for—a tender, heavy place between love and loss.

That’s when I learned about anticipatory grief.

Anticipatory grief is the heartache that comes before a loss. It’s what we feel when we know a goodbye is near, whether it’s for a loved one, a pet, or even a chapter of our lives. For me, it was holding Bailey close, savoring every wag of his tail, and simultaneously preparing my heart for the inevitable.

If you’ve ever felt that ache—the kind that comes with knowing what’s ahead but not quite being ready for it—you’re not alone.

What Does Anticipatory Grief Feel Like?
For me, it was a mix of emotions:

  • Sadness and Heartach...

What To Do If You Wake Up Feeling Anxious

Understanding Morning Anxiety

That dreaded morning anxiety, where you wake up with your heart pounding and mind racing, can feel like the captain of the stress express has taken control. It’s something I’ve battled with and learned to manage. I discovered that this anxiety is often a symptom of a dysregulated nervous system—a signal that your body needs care.

Recognizing Anxiety as a Signal

Instead of viewing anxiety as a problem, recognize it as a message from your nervous system. This shift in perspective helps you address the root cause rather than just the symptoms. Anxiety often whispers to us through physical sensations. We can address the underlying issues by tuning into these subtle signals before they escalate.

Tools to Manage Anxiety

Here are some practical steps to manage morning anxiety:

  1. Shift Your Language: Instead of saying "I am anxious," say "I am feeling anxious." This small change creates a separation between your identity and feelings, allowing you to manag

Stop The Slouch: 5 Sneaky Ways Weak Posture Is Stealing Your Vitality

The Importance of Having a Proper Posture

In our fast-paced, digital age, we often find ourselves glued to our screens for hours on end. Whether working at a desk, scrolling through our phones, or even just sitting back and relaxing, it’s easy to neglect our posture. But good posture is about more than just looking confident or standing tall—it plays a significant role in our overall health and well-being. Here's why maintaining proper posture is so important:

1. Reduces Risk of Pain and Injury Poor posture can lead to chronic pain, particularly in the back, neck, and shoulders. Misalignment can place unnecessary stress on the spine and muscles, increasing the risk of strains and injuries. Maintaining a neutral spine and sitting or standing properly can prevent these issues.

2. Improves Breathing and Circulation When you stand or sit up straight, your lungs and diaphragm have more room to expand, allowing you to take in more oxygen with each breath. Improved circulation helps delive...

Why Is It So Hard to Celebrate Yourself?

The Challenge of Celebrating Yourself: Navigating the Path to Self-Acknowledgment

In a world that often celebrates achievements and milestones, it seems paradoxical that many struggle with the simple act of celebrating themselves. Yet, the truth is, self-celebration can be one of the most challenging endeavors we undertake. Why is it so difficult to pat ourselves on the back and revel in our own successes?

Firstly, societal norms play a significant role. We're often taught humility from a young age, which can sometimes translate into downplaying our accomplishments. We fear being seen as boastful or arrogant if we openly acknowledge our triumphs. This cultural conditioning can lead to a reluctance to shine a spotlight on ourselves, even when we've worked hard and achieved something meaningful.

Moreover, self-doubt and imposter syndrome frequently rear their heads. Despite external validation or tangible evidence of success, we may still harbor inner doubts about our abilities and wo...
